The Effects Of Outsourcing Economy Wise

Globalization is something that concerns many people in this day and age. It is becoming of more concern as its effects become farther reaching and have a greater effect on different cultures and economies. One area of concern to many is the subject of outsourcing.

Of course outsourcing jobs within your country sparks very little criticism or controversy. The issue is when those jobs are outsourced offshore to third world or other countries. There are a number of issues that concern people, one of the main of these being the effect it has on the economy

The outsourcing economy issues arise as people realize that many of the jobs that could be done by Americans are going to poorer countries, contributing to unemployment even of skilled and educated workers within the country. It seems counterproductive in some ways to hire and pay workers who will not be contributing to your own economy, especially as it leaves your own countrymen without the jobs you are sending elsewhere.

However, this is not the end of the story! In some ways outsourcing economy implications are quite the opposite. Sure the jobs that are being hired out of the country are being missed, but with this type of activity come stronger and more successful businesses. With more successful businesses comes stimulation in trade. We all know that more trade means more jobs opening up.

Another argument to consider about the effects outsourcing has on the economy is that it works both ways. By this I mean that while many American companies are choosing companies from other countries to outsource their work to, many companies from other countries outsource their work to America. It doesn’t all go in one direction.

However, many people and companies do not see the benefits of outsourcing as more than a greed-motivated evil. They are concerned that the economy at home is being negatively influenced by the practice of outsourcing. And with no end in sight, but rather a definite increase in outsourcing foreseen it is frustrating to these entities.

The only recourse that they have is to try to make a statement. They might boycott companies that use outsourcing or protest. These methods can have an impact as more people who are not familiar with the practice of outsourcing become educated on the subject and develop an opinion against it and the negative feeling spreads.

However, with the benefits of outsourcing for most companies there is not likely to be a decrease in it any time soon. Rather it will likely continue to climb as time goes on. What may happen is there will be more of a balance in the economic impact of outsourcing and more people will come to accept and embrace it as a viable and valuable practice for businesses.
